My response is to the 9/11 bike ride. I was stopped and I was late for a doctor's appointment. I sat for 45 minutes. I caught myself getting very frustrated. I had two children at home, homework that they needed help with- and dinner to make. How dare these bikers go on a joy ride!
Then I watched. I saw proud American's waiving their flags. I saw people waving and clapping. I saw American's proud of the US. My waiting is nothing in comparison to what people lost that horrible day. I got out of my car. I stood alongside of my community. I cheered! I am not a "biker."
I know many "bikers" who support causes. I believe that this is a beautiful way for people to show their support. Maybe instead of writing negative articles, you should donate your time to a cause like many of these bikers. I will be there next year with my husband and children waving our flags. Also, the route of this ride is mapped in advance. Maybe you could look at the route and change your travel.
