Donald Lee Crow, 70, of Urbandale, Iowa, passed away on Sept. 17, 2012, after short fight with cancer at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 21, at 10 a.m. at Iles Funeral Home-Grandview Park Chapel in Des Moines, Iowa.
Don was born Sept. 23, 1941, in Harrisburg, Pa., to George and Paula (Foster) Crow. He attended Newport High School and Williamsport Technical Institute, in Pennsylvania, where he graduated with a degree in drafting. On Sept. 17, 1966, he married Betsy Ross in Liverpool, Pa.
His family includes his wife of 46 years; two daughters, Deanna Crow (Doug Ophardt) of Selkirk, N.Y., Melissa (Darin) Thompson of Urbandale, Iowa; four grandchildren, Ross, Devyn, Kaden and McKenna Thompson also of Urbandale, Iowa; one brother, George (Sarah) Crow of Newport, Pa.; three sisters, Jane Yohn of Newport, Pa., Paula Crow of Ruskin, Fla., and Deb (Chris) Magaro of Marysville, Pa.; and sister-in-law, Arletta Crow, widow of Don's oldest brother Ted.
