Leroy "Karriem" Williams Jr., 62, of Williamsport, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at ManorCare.
He was born April 23, 1950, the son of Leroy Sr. and Algareene (Wynn ) Williams.
Leroy was married to the former Deborah Washington, who survives.
He was an avid jazz listener and was a DJ known as "BeBop the Vampire" on Jazz 88FM broadcasting from Penn College on Sunday evenings from 10 p.m. until 1 a.m. Monday morning.
For many years he was a licensed x-ray technician in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He had worked for Symphony Mobilix and also a technician at White Deer Run detox.
Surviving, besides his wife, Deborah, are his parents, Leroy and Algareene Williams Sr. of Newark, N.J.; three sons, Rahim K. Williams and Rahsaran K. Williams Sr., both of Newark, N.J., and Jamil S. Washington of Williamsport; a daughter, Rashida K. Williams of Newark, N.J.; 11 grandchildren; four brothers, Gregory Williams, Kevin Williams, Abdul Williams and Taquill Williams, all of Newark, N.J.; a sister, Gwendolyn Odom of Union, N.J.
Relatives and friends are invited to Leroy's Life Celebration Service on 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at the Christ's Community Worship Center, 436 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, with Pastor Marwin Reeves officiating. A receiving of friends will be from 10 until 11 a.m.
