Marlowe E. Stiger, 82, of South Williamsport, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, at the Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital.
Born Nov. 10, 1929, in Williamsport, Pa., he was the son of the late Milford and Eleanor Belles Stiger.
Marlowe was employed by Textron for 39 years and retired in 1990. He enjoyed golf, bowling, and was a member of the Zafar Grotto, the Williamsport Consistory, and Ivy Lodge, No. 397 where he was a Past Master.
Marlowe was a member of the New Covenant United Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Geyer Winter Stiger; children, Kathy (Gerald) Bloom of Currwensville, Keith (Sheila) of Williamsport, Kevin of Boston, Mass., and Kelli (Matthew) Milne of Florida; stepchildren, Dale (Mary) Winter of Collomsville, Susan Winter of Loyalsock, Cheryl (Richard) Starr of Rauchtown, Joyce Winter of Milton, and Carolyn Winter of Pensdale; brother, William (Mary) Stiger of Mississippi; nine grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
Marlowe was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Harsch in 1986.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport, with his Pastor, Rev. Dr. Karin Stork-Whitson, officiating. There will be a viewing on Thursday from noon until the time of service.
Interment will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park.
