Enza R. Laurenson, 86, of Eagles Mere, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.
Born Jan. 6, 1926, in Shrewsbury Township, Sullivan County, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Eva Smith Laurenson.
Enza was a graduate of Sonestown High School, class of 1943 and the Wheaton School of Business, Williamsport. She was employed as a secretary for many years by Dunham & Sons Dairy, Eagles Mere, and retired as a secretary from Baumuch Lumber Company, Forksville, after having served there for 38 years. Enza served as Eagles Mere Borough Tax Collector for many years and was a member of Eagles Mere Community Church.
Surviving are a brother, George E. (Eloise) Laurenson of Bloomsburg; two sisters, Clara M. Smith of Bloomsburg and Margaret E. (Carl) Miller of Picture Rocks; and a sister-in-law, June Laurenson of Hughesville.
In addition to her parents, Enza was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond S. Laurenson; a nephew, Gary Smith; and a brother-in-law, Leonard Smith.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Joani Yagel officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville. In keeping with Enza's wishes, there will be no visitation.
