Beatrice Ella (Singleton) Smalls, 83, of Williamsport and formerly of South Carolina, died on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at the Gatehouse.
She was married to the late Moses A. Smalls for over 45 years before his death.
Beatrice was born on April 3, 1929, on James Island, S.C., and was the daughter of the late Leon Singleton and Lucille Scott. She was an LPN for over 25 years and had worked at Coney Island Hospital, N.Y. She was a member of the Sam Hill Baptist Church, S.C., and enjoyed being a mother, grandmother, doing crossword puzzles and crocheting.
Beatrice is survived by seven daughters, Loretta McRaven of Germany, Barbara Dallas and Hadiah Abdullah, both of Philadelphia, Atiya Ali of Williamsport, Jeanette Carter of Texas, Maxine Nayl of Philadelphia and Elizabeth Hillian of South Carolina; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous cousins.
There will be a graveside service held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at the Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport, with the Reverend Joseph Walker officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport.
