Marian E. Bower, 89, formerly of Collomsville, Pa., died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at Transitions Healthcare Nursing Home in Gettysburg, Pa.
Marian was born July 8, 1923, in Williamsport, Pa., daughter of the late Clarence G. Sr. and Katherine Rose (Tillman) Bower.
During World War II, Marian was employed as a riveter by North American Aviation Corp. in California, the company manufactured aircraft in support of World War II. After the war, she returned with her family to Collomsville, Pa., where she was a homemaker and later a caregiver for her parents.
Marian is survived by a brother, Carl E. Bower and wife Betty of Fairfield, Pa., and a number of nieces and nephews and two cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Clarence G. Bower Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at 1 p.m. from St. Luke's Catholic Church in Jersey Shore, Pa., with Fr. Bert S. Kozin, Celebrant. Interment will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Monday at the church from noon until 1 p.m. Memorials can be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 5973 Jacks Hollow Road, Williamsport, PA 17702.
