Walter Riedy King, 81, of Williamsport, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 15, 1931, in Williamsport, the son of John H. and Dorothy F. (Riedy) King.
Walter attended St. Boniface grade school and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1949.

He was an U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War. Mr. King retired from Bethlehem Steel where he was employed as a welder.
Walter was a member of St. Boniface Church and enjoyed hunting, boating and shooting skeet and trap at Sportsman's.
His parents and his brothers, John H. Jr. and Richard J. King, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his sister, Marianne of Flush, Kan., his five nephews, Richard J. Jr. (Eileen), Gregory R., Andrew R., David R. (Laurel) and Stephen R. (Kim); and his niece, Catherine A. King.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, with the Rev. Paul C. Fontanella officiating, followed by burial at St. Boniface Cemetery.
There will be a visitation in the church lounge on Tuesday from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m.
The family will provide the flowers.
