William C. Allen

William C. Allen, 73, of Linden, was doing what he loved when following a golf tournament on Saturday with his friends, he was stricken during dinner and was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown, where he went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012.

Born March 19, 1939, in Westfield, he was a son of Charles and Helen Potter Allen. He and his wife Jane (Kilburn) Allen would have celebrated 54 years of marriage on Sept. 21.

Bill was a 1957 graduate of Cowanesque Valley High School and received a degree in Business Administration from Penn State University in 1962. Bill was owner and co-owner of many businesses, he currently was owner and CEO of Market St. South, South Williamsport.

He loved playing golf was a member of White Deer Golf Course and played in their retiree's league. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, gardening and growing the best tomatoes. He was a social member of the Zafar Grotto.

Surviving, in addition to his wife Jane, are two daughters, Melissa L. Green (E.J.) of Blacksburg, S.C., and LaRae K. Allen of Lititz; three grandchildren, Laurel Green, Eddie Green III and Tia Bates; and five great-grandchildren, Eddie IV, Kayle, Gage, Delilah and Curtis; and a brother, Fred Allen of Westfield (Pat).

He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Baldwin.

Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. Visitation will be held Friday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Sanders Mortuary. Burial will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in Woodlawn Cemetery, Austinburg, Tioga County.
