I am writing to clarify a September 13 Associated Press story regarding the "No Green Slime" campaign that my organization has launched to fight the misrepresentations and half-truths being leveled against the oil and natural gas industry by a number of environmental organizations.
PIOGA is fighting back against erroneous claims being made by these groups. Our organization is not, however, responsible for the billboard referenced in this article that is critical of the state Department of Environmental Protection, the result of a simple and unintentional miscommunication during an interview. We work effectively with DEP and the other agencies that regulate our industry.
