I am writing with regard to the article about the possible demolition of the old rectory, or as we call it, "wrecktory", at Christ Episcopal Church. I can't think of a family wanting to buy it and doing the renovations. It's on a busy street and doesn't have a decent yard for children to play in. If a law firm or other business purchased it, not only would they need to renovate it but they wouldn't have enough parking space for clients or customers. It certainly doesn't benefit the city because they don't receive taxes as Father Tom pointed out.
I hope this problem, which shouldn't be a problem, can be solved quickly to the benefit of all concerned. As it stands now, it is an eyesore and open as a target for vandalism.
