No budget

September 22, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

Anyone with any common sense knows you need at least a simple budget to run a household and if you have a business or farm, you better have a pretty expanded budget or you will soon be broke and out of business. To run a township, borough or state, you better have a budget that is balanced and in line with what you have coming in or you will be in serious trouble and voted out of office.

President Obama and Harry Reid do not believe it is necessary to have a budget to run a really big business, the United States of America, the people's business.

When Obama sends his version over to the Senate it gets voted down 98 to 0, not one of his own party votes for this farce he calls a budget. And when Rep. Paul Ryan sends a passed one from the House over to the Senate, Harry Reid just says it won't pass the Senate so I am not going to bring it up for a vote.

Erskine Boles, the head Democrat on the Boles-Simpson Commission appointed by President Obama, has said Ryan's budget is at least a start whether you completely agree with it or not.

My question is why won't Reid bring it to the floor for a vote and have debates on it. No budget for four straight years is unacceptable. All they want to do is overspend and borrow or print money that drives the value of the dollar down. Our own Sen. Casey never met a debt increase vote he didn't like and rushes to the floor every time to vote with Reid and Obama.

I say to you, Republicans, Democrats and Independents, we have to change this and get this country back on the right track as the vast majority of economists and voters think we are headed the wrong way. See you at the polls on Nov. 6.
