Our only hope

September 23, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

Shortly, we, the People, will (hopefully) execute our civic duty; that being the casting of our votes to elect the next President of the United States, as well as several members of the Congressional delegation. Make no mistake; this ballot will prove to be the pivotal moment in our collective destinies.

I ask that each and every one of you seriously consider who you will vote for on Nov. 6. To me, the choice has never been more clear a self-made man who has a stellar career both as a business person and family man, or allowing the present occupant of the White House to pursue his goal of a demo-socialist style of government that excels in knowing what's "best" for each and every one of us, regardless of our abilities in "building that" or defining our appropriate level of health care.

I still believe that despite the liberal media's constant drumbeat to the contrary, Americans are well-informed, specifically when it comes to the well-being of their personal futures. With that realization comes the collective concerns for the generations that are now growing up and entering the workplace, as well as those that are yet to be born. We owe it to those that will follow us to set this country back on the proper path of stabilization, strength, and security.

Am I and my family better off now than four years ago? Does the current administration really care about me and want to help me shape my own destiny?

I could continue these sorts of questions with the hope that the reader here would take to heart the intent and consider the ramifications of answers that speak to the obviouswe cannot continue on the path to a diminished United States, the refusal to support our closest allies and friends, and the agonizing transition to a society that rewards laziness and a culture of dependence on an omnipotent government.

If you feel that by staying the present course offered by the "anointed one", as aptly coined by Sean Hannity is one of prudence, then it is I who feel somewhat sorry for you. Place your trust and you/your family's future in the promise of a reborn United States that stands for liberty, freedom to pursue your dreams and that of your children, and the overall hope for a better tomorrow.

No one promises this path to be easy. However, if nothing is done to change the course of events, President Obama and his corrupt minions will undoubtedly take this nation to an early grave. I, for one, am not ready to place the headstone.

A vote for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan is our only hope.
