Jennie Lynn Knight

Jennie Lynn Knight, 90, of 106 Emery St., died Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at the Gatehouse Hospice.

Jennie was a L.P.N. and retired from the Pennsylvania State Department of Health. She graduated from the Williamsport Area Community College in 1976. Jennie enjoyed bowling, crocheting, knitting, and watching sports on T.V.

Born March 30, 1922, in Columbia, S.C., she was the daughter of Thomas R., Sr. and Susie Jennielind Gordan Thompson.

Surviving are her children, Sherry (Forest) Farley of Tampa, Fla., Charlene Brooks of Tampa, Fla., Lynette Whaley of Williamsport, LaDonna Knight of St. Petersburg, Fla., Wayne (Mattie) Knight of Morgantown, W. Va., Starr Knight of St. Petersburg, Fla; a sister Sylvia Dawson of Los Angeles, Calif.; two brothers, Charles (Dorothy) Thompson of Plainfield, N.J., and Franklin Thompson of Anchorage, Alaska; 21 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Jennie was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Andrew Knight Sr. and sons Andrew Knight Jr. and Lionel Knight Sr.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Knight-Confer's, 1914 Memorial Ave., with the Rev. Charles Thompson Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
