United Churches Wednesday noon ecumenical lunches are held each week of the school year at Pine Street United Methodist Church, 441 Pine St. The speakers next Wednesday Phil and Gail Landers, who serve as the coordinating caseworkers for United Churches Long-term Disaster Recovery Committee. They will talk about the work being done by congregations, individuals and local and government agencies to help people in our communities continue to recover basic needs after Tropical Storm Leo a year ago. A serving of a catered $6 lunch begins at 11:45 a.m. in the church Wesley Hall. Free parking is available in the lot north of the church. Although reservations are not needed, those who are not regular attendees should call United Churches at 322-1110 to help the caterer know how much food to prepare.
