Tyler Quigley and Matt Hibbs both scored goals, helping the Loyalsock boys soccer team win a hard-fought match, 2-1 against Williamsport Saturday afternoon. Quigley scored late in the first half and Hibbs early in the second off a Quigley assist, putting Loyalsock up 2-0.
Muncy staged a dramatic rally at South Williamsport, scoring two goals in the final five minutes of regulation to tie it and then winning, 4-3 in double overtime. Ammar Sabanovic fed Mike Fornwalt for the game-tying goal with 9 seconds remaining and then scored his third goal in the second overtime to win it.
Hayden Forquer and Andrew Roman made 11 combined saves in goal in St. John Neumann's 7-0 loss to Millville.
Cody Schmouder scored four goals and Nathaniel Wilson added two and an assist as Liberty routed Towanda, 9-0.
Aaron Lewis scored three goals while Conner Wylie had three assists, one off a throw-in and another off a cornerkick, as Sullivan County defeated Montgomery, 7-1. Dylan Ammerman added two goals for the Griffins.
Central Columbia shut out Montoursville, 2-0. Nick Gaydos and Josh Petershem scored goals for Central in the win.
In girls soccer, Senior captain Carly Engel scored three goals and led a balanced effort as South Williamsport downed Sullivan County, 9-0.
Sayre scored the game's lone goal with 13:18 remaining and edged Wellsboro, 1-0.
Williamsport fell to Central Mountain, 1-0. Johnna Garbrick scored the match's lone goal for Central Mountain.
In girls cross country, Sullivan County finished 16th in the white race during the PIAA Foundation run. Bridget Paonessa led Sullivan County, finishing 53rd overall with a time of 25:00.
In boys cross country, Sullivan County finished 11th overall in the white race during the PIAA Foundation run behind a ninth place finish from Kelby Mullen. Mullen finished with a time of 17:38 to lead Sullivan County.
In girls tennis, Loyalsock remained undefeated and tuned up for a huge showdown against Hughesville Monday, by blanking Montgomery, 5-0.
In college field hockey, Mansfield scored three-second half goals but couldn't defeat No. 1 Shippensburg, falling 6-3.
Kelsie Minnich and Molly Urey each scored twice and Lock Haven cruised past host Rider.
In men's soccer, the University of Rochester scored two first-half goals and downed Lycoming, 4-1. Freshman Nick Neverman scored for the Warriors.
In women's soccer, Gannon scored three second-half goals to beat Mansfield, 3-0.
Lock?Haven fell at IUP, 6-1. Madeline Novak scored for the Lady Eagles.
In college cross country, Mansfield juniors Jess and Kristy Scordino and Savannah Boucher all posted top five times to lead the Mountaineers women's cross country team to a third place team finish at the LHU Invitational. Sophomore Jesse Jones paced the men's team with an eighth-place finish.
Thirteen members of the Lycoming College cross country teams ran season-bests at the Lock Haven University River Run Invitational.
Senior Michelle Her-man continued to drop seconds off her time, posting a 24:33.3, her best time since her freshman year, to lead the women's team to a 12th-place finish.
Several men posted season-bests en route to their 12th-place finish, led by junior Mike Puchalski, who dropped 40 seconds off his previous season-best to finish in 31:22.3. Rittenhouse finished 111th.
The Penn College cross country team held its own against some elite competition at The Lock Haven University River Run. Dan Starr, Dan Flynn and Dan Blauvelt all placed in the top 120.
Junior Alex Monroe took home the individual title, freshman Dylan Mountain was fourth and the Lock Haven men's cross country team finished second overall as The Haven hosted the LHU River Run Invitational.
The Lady Eagles finished sixth out of 12 teams and were placed by Laura Histand, who took 13th overall.
In college volleyball, Lock Haven dropped Mercyhurst 3-1 (25-22, 25-19, 23-25, 25-19). Gao Xuan and BAiley Farthing each recorded 11 kills for Lock Haven.
