Alechia Hause wanted to give customers a store that sold some of her special merchandise in a site close to the city.
In May she opened Alechia's Gifts From A to Z at 218 Market St., South Williamsport.
Located just off the Market Street Bridge, Hause said it's a bit of a different shopping experience than that of her Muncy store, Alechia's Unique House of Country.
Handbags, jewelry, women's apparels such as gloves, hats and scarves are some of the biggest selling items at her store.
Shoppers can also find cards, jams and jellies, candles, and various gift items and home decor merchandise.
"Everything here is affordable," she said.

On a recent day, Hause had her shop looking like fall, with Halloween and harvest accessories.
Hause will decorate her store to fit any season.
"If it's Easter, we'll have it looking like Easter," she said.
The two rooms of her shop seem to overflow with merchandise, including a section set aside for Christmas accessories.
She offers customers a "homey atmosphere" with quality products.
"We are very friendly, very accommodating," she said. "If we don't have it, we'll get it for you."
Hause has many years of experience owning and running shops.
Alechia's Unique House of Country, 1795 John Brady Drive, Muncy, has been in operation for about 20 years.
But she stressed that her other store, with its antiques, primitive wares and country collectives, offers different merchandise.
With her new store in South Williamsport, she's hoping to attract many of those same customers who are possibly looking for other items.
She also wants to attract new patrons who might not even know about her Muncy shop.
Over the years, many people asked her when she might locate a store closer to Williamsport.
This past week, Becky Deljanovan of DuBoistown made her fourth stop at Hause's new store.
Among her purchases were candles, dish towels and shower curtains.
She said she badly needed some new shower curtains.
"And I'm entertaining tomorrow night," she added.
Hause said she loves her location near the Bridge Tavern.
"If you cross the bridge to South Williamsport, you are in our parking lot," she said.
Hause is planning an open house for Sept. 29.
Customers will have a chance to sample some of her jams and jellies and other food products and take advantage of special discounts.
Business hours for the store are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
