Business development consultant joins bank

Susquehanna Bank has hired Paul H. Rooney, Jr., as a business development consultant for Northcentral Pennsylvania.

As a consultant he will facilitate the sales efforts of the bank, and will be based at Susquehanna's office, 329 Pine St., Williamsport. Rooney will continue in a consulting role with his existing customer base.

Rooney previously worked as regional president and senior vice president of Sovereign/Banco Santander in Williamsport, and has 38 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry.

A resident of Williamsport, he is active with numerous organizations including the boards of the Lycoming County Chamber of Commerce, Recreational Authority and Industrial Properties Corp; Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania; the Blue Ribbon Foundation of Northeastern Pennsylvania; Penn College Foundation Board and the boards of the Susquehanna Health System Foundation and Medical Group.

Rooney graduated from St. Francis College in Loretto with a bachelor of science degree in business administration and attended the MBA program at Bucknell University.

Susquehanna Bank provides banking and financial services at 261 branch locations in the mid-Atlantic region. It is a subsidiary of Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc., a financial services holding company with assets of more than $17.8 billion and 3,400 employees.

Bryan Holmes, president and chief operating officer, recently announced the following promotion at FNB Bank.

Andrea C. Harkleroad has been promoted to assistant manager for the bank's Berwick office. Harkleroad joined FNB Bank in 2007 as a teller. She has progressed over the last five years most recently holding position of customer service representative. Harkleroad attained her bachelor of arts degree in mass communications from Bloomsburg University. Holmes stated, "We are confident that Andrea will do a terrific job in growing our presence in the Berwick market. She is a great asset to FNB Bank and Fulton Financial family as a whole."

Mike Miller was recently recognized as the June Employee of the Month at Construction Specialties, Inc. in Muncy.

According to a news release, one of Construction Specialties values states that the company strives to constantly and consistently meet or exceed goals. Miller has worked with outside sources to improve the automated programming of two of the firm's key functions in the door machining area. The improvements have reduced errors and increased throughput.

In addition to his tremendous performance in both the quality and the quantity of work produced, Mike also has recently completed the requirements to become a LEED Green Associate.

First National Bank of Pennsylvania, the largest subsidiary of F.N.B. Corp. has announced that Jennifer Reel, vice president and director of brand & communication strategies, has been appointed to the Pennsylvania Bankers Association PR Communication Advisory Committee.

The PBA's PR Communication Advisory Committee serves as an advisory group regarding PR and Communication projects recommended by other Association Committees and volunteer structures to determine strategies, gauge potential effectiveness and advise Association staff regarding the overall "value-to-investment" of projects.

Reel, whose term as a PBA Committee member extends through July 2013, has been employed by First National Bank since 2000. During her tenure, she has served in multiple marketing and communication roles.

Reel is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Westminster College in New Wilmington, where she earned a bachelor of arts and a masters of education.
