Mabel G. Fiedler, 86, formerly of 201 S. Broad St., Jersey Shore, went to be with the Lord Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at the Sycamore Manor Health Center.
Born March 10, 1926, in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of James B. Wadsworth and the former Permilla C. Rauch.
Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Harold S. Fiedler, on Jan. 1, 1982; they were united in marriage Jan. 15, 1949.
Mabel was a member of the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, the church choir and the chancel bell choir. Earlier in her life, she was employed by Sylvania, Penn Woven and Woolworths. For 25 years she was the owner of Mabel's Beauty Shop and was a 50-year member of the Ivanhoe Chapter No. 28 Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics with many on display at the B&D Ceramic Shop.
Mabel is survived by a son, Jeffrey E. Fiedler of Morresville, N.C.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 229 S. Broad St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday in the church. An Order of Eastern Star Service will be held at 10:45 a.m. at the church. Rev. Kerry R. Aucker, her pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. Family will provide flowers and suggest memorial contributions be made in her name to the St. John Evangelical Church (Rising Anew Fund), 229 S. Broad St., Jersey Shore, PA 17740. Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, is in charge of arrangements.
