Millie Shipman, 92, died Sept. 23, 2012. She was a resident of Sycamore Manor for five years. She was born April 16, 1920, in Sunbury, Pa. She was the daughter of Roy and Stella Culp. She married James F. Shipman Dec. 7, 1941, in Plum Creek Lutheran Church in Sunbury, Pa. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in 1986. Her husband James died Dec. 21, 1986.
She was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the LCW and past president. She served on the church council and was a member of the choir. She assisted with the merger of Faith Lutheran and Saint Michaels Churches of which she is still a member. She was the past president of the Heshbon Garden Club and a member for 35 years.
Surviving are four sons, Barry W. of Trout Run, Ronald J. (Susan) of Goldendale, Wash., Thomas C. (Lynda) of Cogan Station, Perry W. of Williamsport; and a daughter, Karen Foreman (Dave) of Bellefonte. She was preceded in death by her son, Jesse R.

She was the beloved grandmother of 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
We celebrate and honor the life of our mother, Millie and are eternally grateful for her gift of life to us. The beating heart of a loving family is silent now but she will continue to speak to us through her legacy of unconditional love.
In keeping with Millie's wishes, services will be private with a memorial service to be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Saint Michaels Lutheran church or the Salvation Army in Williamsport, Pa.
Arrangements are being handled by the James C. Maneval Funeral Home, Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home," 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport.
