Michael Jennings Brion, 53, of 720 First Ave., has been charged by city police with simple assault and harassment for allegedly grabbing his ex-girlfriend's hair, pulling her across the floor and striking her in the right eye about 7:40 p.m. Sept 5.
The victim was Theresa Kaelin and the alleged assault occurred in the 600 block of Krouse Avenue, police said.
Following his arraignment, Brion initially was jailed in the Lycoming County Prison, but has since been released on $5,000 bail. He since has waived his preliminary hearing.
