A city motorist who has no driver's license faces charges following a brief pursuit with Pennsylvania College of Technology police, according to court records filed at the office of District Judge James Carn.
When police finally cornered Ambrose Savoy Campana in an alley near Grier Street, the 33-year-old man "flipped out," yelling profanities and racial slurs as he threw his cellphone down the street, police said.
Campana, of 2236 W. Fourth St., had fled from police at a high rate of speed in his Dodge Stratus near West Fourth and Rose streets about 11:15 a.m. July 18.
Following his recent arraignment before Carn on charges of fleeing police, driving without a license and a traffic violation, Campana was released on $8,500 bail. He has since waived his preliminary hearing.
