Regarding, "Shorter Please," I can't help but wonder if the writer has any idea at all as to how much bikers contribute by riding. Most rides put on are to raise funds for everything from toys for tots, people with medical needs and no funds to cover them, homeless families, veterans families, scholarships and the list goes on. You will also see us at the soup kitchens as well as senior homes and other civic functions. Regarding accidents, they do happen but the facts are that most of the time they are caused by the automobile and not by the biker. Does the writer have a problem with the Market Street bridge being closed for hours for the 4th of July, city streets closed for parades and other activities or is it just with a group that she really knows nothing about? If you take the time to do some research you will find that the amount of money raised by bikers all over the country is staggering and we do it by riding. You are welcome to ride with us any time you would like.
