Sandy Reeder

Sandra Lee Mundell Reeder, 64, of Sulphur, La., died at 7:10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Reeder was born Oct. 9, 1947, in Williamsport, Pa., and was a 1965 graduate of Williamsport High School. She has lived in the Lake Charles/Sulphur area since 1977 and worked 28 years at Women and Children's Hospital, where she worked as the buying agent. Mrs. Reeder was a member of Preparing the Way Ministries. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and was very active in her grandchildren's activities. She always put others before herself and considered everyone close to her as family. She was quiet in spirit; but giant in heart.

Mrs. Reeder is survived by her sons, Russ H. Reeder III and wife Carey of Lufkin, Texas, Stanley Reeder and wife Pamela of Goddard, Kan., and William Reeder and wife Stephanie of Sulphur, La.; mother, Mary Miller of Williamsport, Pa.; brother, Thomas Mundell and wife Gail of Clearwater, Fla.; stepsister, Sharon Wilkinson and husband John; brother-in-law, Stanley H. "Buck" Reeder and wife Jenny of Sulphur; good friends, Doyle and Gena Evans; grandchildren, Joseph Myers, Jake, Brittany, Ashley, and Eric Reeder, Amanda Smith, and Christopher Cox and wife Kellie; and numerous other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell "Hon" Reeder Jr.; father, William Mundell; stepfather, Dale Miller; and parents-in-law, Russell and Florence Reeder Sr.

Her funeral service will be at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Charles, La. Pastor Doyle Evans will officiate. A cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 2 p.m. until the start of the service.

The family would like to express a special word of thanks to the nurses and staff at Women and Children's Hospital.
