Mayor Campana, please stand your ground. You were elected by and serve the taxpayers of Williamsport. We all know how important firefighters and policeman are, but these unions must get in the real world. Paying toward taxpayer-funded healthcare will not make you less capable to fight a fire or less capable to make an arrest. Yes, you are important, but while those of us that employ you pay thousands of dollars per month for health care and you pay zip, then it is time for us to fight fire with fire.
Dear Council and Mr. Mayor - make sure these unions pay a monthly fee of several hundred dollars each or you will NOT be re-elected! I can barely afford my own health care let alone that of all public employees.
