This is a warning letter to all who use the Riverwalk. Please be constantly aware of the bikers who come from behind you so quickly and without warning.
Last week my dog was almost hit by a man on a bike. He never slowed down. My dog could have been seriously injured or killed. Then a family of three on bikes came by. And then a low riding racing bike with a man and woman on board sped by at a fast speed.
This is the second time I feared for my dog's safety while on the Riverwalk. I won't take her on it again. To those who control the Riverwalk, please consider this:
Keep the Riverwalk, the four-mile loop - Market St. Bridge - South Williamsport side, Maynard St. Bridge and Williamsport side as a walk just for walkers, strollers, wheelchairs, joggers and those walking their dogs or a leisurely stroll. Then the section under the Market St. Bridge heading east to Montoursville for bikes only - "the bike path."
That would prevent any accidents, serious injuries or death. It is a serious situation and I don't want a tragedy to happen before a change is made. Signs will not help. So don't bother with them.
