Our school board and superintendent refused to hear the district taxpayers and let them speak at meetings is disgusting.
I , for one, am ashamed of them, that is total disrespect for the people in the district. They do not want to hear what the people think of their building project or the closing of the school.
On the building project, which is not needed, they have already wasted $1 million, now it is time to cut our losses and admit you made a big mistake. It is sometimes okay to make a mistake, it is what you do about them that counts.
On the closing of a school, it is obvious one needs to be closed, we have declining enrollment with way too much empty space. As you stated before by closing one school there still is plenty of room in the other schools to absorb the displaced students.
This school board and superintendent has drawn a line between the people in the district and themselves, it is shameful that taxpayers , paying the bill will not be heard.
I think regardless of how these people feel being for or against they have a right to be heard, and as for the district lawyers advice , it is very poor and it may be time to look for a new lawyer after all, the people are paying for him.
