I was shocked this morning to learn that the last Bush administration is responsible for $6.1 trillion dollars of the national debt, according to the Department of the Treasury, Financial Management Service, Bureau of the Public Debt; and the Office of Management and Budget.
President Obama ran up the national debt trying to get the country out of the fiscal mess left by the last administration. Bush ran up the national debt, according to the federal government, giving tax cuts to millionaires, starting two wars and destroying the economy.
I voted for Bush because I thought Republicans were the party of fiscal responsibility. I was clearly mistaken. Nonetheless, I am ready to give the Republicans another shot and see if Romney can do better than Bush. I have confidence. I know he can beat a measly $6.1 trillion of debt.
