Rosene Marion Shire, 98, formerly of South Williamsport, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at Rose View Manor where she had been a guest the past 17 years.
She was born in Williamsport on July 18, 1914, a daughter of Harry and Mabel Setley Baier. She was a Williamsport High School graduate and was married to Lester J. Shire who passed away March 15, 1990. Early in her life she was a clerk for C.A. Reed. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, South Williamsport, a member of the church choir, organist and pianist. She was also a member of The Order of Eastern Star, The White Shrine and The Order of Amaranth.
Her survivors include son, David E. Shire of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; one grandson, Jeremy K. Shire of Ruther Glen, Va.; four great-grandchildren, Shyloh Rosene, Gabriel Dustin, Scout Kristoffer and Larken Courtney. She is further survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins, and was predeceased by a son, Steven.
Rosene's Life Celebration will begin with a visitation on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Maneval Funeral Home, "A Life Celebration," 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, Pa. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at 11 a.m. in Wildwood Cemetery.
