Williamsport Sun-Gazette

A Hughesville teenager is hospitalized in an intensive care unit with critical injuries she suffered early Thursday morning when the pickup truck in which she was riding crashed into three trees on Northway Road in Eldred Township, state police.

Stacey C. Silverman, 18, of Hughesviille, was reported in critical condition in the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, a nursing supervisor said Thursday night.

Silverman was a passenger in a truck driven by Timothy Turner Jr., 19, of Williamsport, that crashed after Turner failed to negotiate a curve as he was traveling south on Northway Road about 12:50 a.m., police said. The crash occurred just south of Ridge Top Road.

Turner suffered minor injuries. It was unknown if he was taken to the hospital as well.

In another wreck, state police released details Thursday night of a three-vehicle crash that occurred at Lycoming Creek and Log Run roads in Loyalsock Township about 8 a.m. Sunday.

Daniel Manetta, 49, of Cogan Station, and two passengers in his van, Holly Manetta, 68, of Shippensburg, and a 4-year-old girl, all were taken to the Williamsport Regional Medical Center for injuries they suffered when the vehicle and a truck driven by Donald Bickel, of Jersey Shore, collided, police said.

The hospital no longer releases condition reports on crash victims.

After the collision, Bickel's truck struck a stopped pickup truck driven by Henry Cowles, police said. Neither driver was hurt.
