R/W Connection has benefited from the drilling of natural gas in the area.
But the company touches many other industries as well.
Headquartered in Landisville, Pa., the company opened up a supply facility just east of Montoursville Jan. 1.
The store opened up next to it in March.
R/W spokesman Mike Jones said there's little question that the decision to locate there was driven by the gas industry.
"We already have customers here," he said. "So an expansion made a lot of sense."
The company is a distributor of hoses, conveyor belts and industrial supplies.
"We distribute all major brands," he said. "We have tools for companies to use out in the field."
R/W offers an extensive line of hoses and fittings for the oil and gas industry.
Among some of the company's local clients have been Keystone Filler and Andritz as well as those in the transportation, wood manufacturing and natural gas industries.
In addition to distribution, the site offers various services.
"We cut hoses. We do assembly of hydraulic lines. We do basic welding of hoses," he said.
To enhance productivity or address safety issues, the company also offers:

Product standardization.
Competitive brand analysis.
Inventory rationalization and reduction.
Storeroom management software.
Barcode capabilities.
Summarized billing.
Volume leveraged rebates.
Jones said employees bring a wealth of experience and are there for clients.
"If an issue comes up, we have the resources to get the answers. Any number of people I can call have special knowledge to help clients."
There's little question that expanding into Lycoming County made sense for the company.
"I'd say it's a very good fit," Jones said. "The gas industry certainly bodes well for a nice, successful future."
Six people work out of the site at 179 Grey Fox Drive.
Jones said he expects the local site to grow as new customers are being added.
"We are pleased with the first year of operating at this point in the new facility," he said.
The company operates in various other locations statewide including: Butler, West Chester, Allentown, York, and Wampum.
