In celebration of Adopt-a-Shelter Dog month, the Lycoming County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is offering a free gift with every dog adoption.
Each dog receives distemper and kennel cough vaccine, flea treatment, a temperament test, spaying or neutering, a microchip identification with registration, and 30 days free health insurance from Pet Health.
There are usually 30 to 40 dogs awaiting homes at the Lycoming County SPCA.
Pictures of all of the animals available for adoption can be viewed at www.lycomingspca.org.
"Animal rescue is very rewarding," said Victoria Stryker, executive director. "Each animal has a story; whether it is surrendered by its owner, lost or removed from neglectful or abusive situation. We encourage people to visit with the animals in person. Once you look into those big, brown eyes-you won't be able to resist."
