Wesley L. Keen Jr.

Wesley L. Keen Jr., 30, of Avis, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Jersey Shore Hospital.

He was born Nov. 12, 1981, in Jersey Shore, the son of Wesley L. Keen Sr. and Jeanette "Jet" Bilby.

Wesley was a 2000 graduate of Jersey Shore High School where he still holds defensive lineman records for sacks. He was awarded academic and football scholarships to Lycoming College where he double majored in political science and philosophy graduating in 2005. He also played football and wrestled at Lycoming and attended West Chester University of PA.

He was a member of the Crossroads Community Church.

He was a Jersey Shore YMCA member and he enjoyed camping, swimming, hunting, walking, reading and gardening; he also enjoyed visiting coffee shops and acoustic music.

He was employed as a math tutor at Wyz-Ant where he helped students with their GED diplomas and SAT exams.

Surviving are his parents, Jeanette (Randy) Wandell of Lock Haven, Wesley (Brenda) Keen of Avis; a sister, Jennifer Keen of Austin, Texas; half-sister, Faith Wandell of Lock Haven; two stepsisters, Ashley Hoffman of Castanea, Jessica Hoffman of Avis; and a half-brother, Bryce Wandell of Lock Haven; and a stepbrother, Peter Wandell of State College; a special influence in his life, Pamela Bossert; maternal grandparents, Evelyn and Albert Fox of Lewisburg, Albert Bilby and Mary Winters of English Center; maternal great-grandmother, Delores Decker of Lock Haven; and maternal stepgrandparents, Bob and Katie Wandell of Montoursville; paternal grandparents, Curt and Myra Hall of Avis; paternal stepgrandparents, Robert and Janice Raudabaugh of Rauchtown; and stepgreat-grandmother, Mary Getgen of Rauchtown; three nieces, one nephew and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by Jeanie Keen and his grandfather, Wayne Keen Sr.

Relatives and friends are invited to Wesley's Life Celebration service 10 a.m. Friday at the Crossroads Community Church, 1454 PA 44, Jersey Shore, PA 17740, with Pastor John Phillips officiating. A visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the church. Burial will be Rest Haven Memorial Park.
