Roundup: Ashlea Lovell wins thrilling 2:42 match

Montgomery's Ashlea Lovell won one of the year's most dramatic District 4 tennis matches Monday at Central Columbia, rallying from a set down and winning consecutive tie-breakers to defeat Hannah Lewis in three sets, while helping Montgomery blank Central Columbia, 5-0. Lovell dropped the first set 6-0 and was down 4-0 in the second set before making a remarkable comeback and winning the next two sets 7-6, taking the tie-breakers 7-5, 7-2 in a match that lasted 2 hours, 42 minutes.

Williamsport clinched the HAC-I title for the seventh straight year with a 3-2 victory over Montoursville. Maggie Manchester and Amanda Hampton won in singles for Williamsport.

Loyalsock finished its regular season 15-0 without losing a set as it beat Bloomsburg on Monday, 5-0.

A three-set victory at No. 1 doubles finished Hughesville's 5-0 win over Muncy.

Milton won 3-set matches at Nos. 2 and 3 singles in beating Jersey Shore, 4-1.

Jen Jackson scored two goals while Lizz Cummings has a goal and an assist as South Williamsport blanked Muncy, 3-0 in girls soccer.

Brittany Snyder scored three goals and Alexis Avery had a goal and an assist as Hughesville downed Jersey Shore, 4-1. Maddy Lofredo scored for the Bulldogs.

Williamsport held its own against Midd-West but lost 4-0 despite nearly equalling the Mustangs in shots on goal.

Two-time defending state champion Warrior Run scored six straight goals and routed Mifflinburg, 6-1 as Emily Potter scored two goals and assisted on two others.

Morgan Chambers' score early in the second half was enough for Loyalsock to beat Southern Columbia, 1-0.

Jenny Evans' overtime score lifted Wellsboro past Wyalusing, 2-1.
