Susquehanna Health will hold the following events:
10:15 to 11:15 a.m. Tuesdays, beginning today and through Oct. 30 - "Walkin' & Rockin' with Dani." This power walking and strength building program will be held at The LifeCenter at Lycoming Mall for individuals at any fitness level. It is led by fitness instructor Dani Sayah, of Step by Step Walk Fitness, a fitness company specializing in indoor power walks. Walkers will move at their own pace during the two-mile indoor walking program. Participants should bring a small towel and water bottle and wear comfortable clothing and sneakers. A fee applies per class, or participants may purchase all five classes in advance for a reduced rate. Payment is required at the beginning of the class. 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays, beginning this week and through Oct. 24 - Baby Cafe. Expecting, new or experienced mothers may participate in a group discussion gives moms an opportunity to meet and talk with other moms about their pregnancy and after birth experiences. A board-certified lactation consultant facilitates the group. Babies welcome. On Oct. 3 and 17, the group will meet in the Cherry Room, Susquehanna Tower, Williamsport Regional Medical Center. On Oct. 10 and 24, the location is the Blue Program Room, James V. Brown Library. Registration is not required, but it provides participants with an email reminder. 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesdays, beginning this week and through Oct. 24 - Cooking Classes with Nutrition Links. Parents and grandparents who are raising children on a limited budget may attend free cooking classes at The LifeCenter in the Lycoming Mall, Pennsdale. Lori Masser, Penn State Nutrition Links, will share ideas on turning leftovers into another meal, explain food labels and provide food safety tips. Attendance at all four classes is encouraged. Hospital holds annual hunters' screening
Jersey Shore Hospital will hold its annual hunters' screening for men and women from 1 to 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Hunters can receive free screenings to check blood pressure, hearing, cholesterol, feet, heart, eyesight and more. New for this year is a stroke screening for participants.
Appointments are not necessary. Participants can enter to win great door prizes, receive free giveaways and view presentations from state agencies.
Participants should look for the hunters' screening signs posted in the main hospital parking lot and enter through the automatic side doors to the left the main hospital entrance.
The cholesterol screening requires an eight-hour fast, and the foot evaluation will end at 4 p.m.

Evangelical offers flu, pneumonia vaccinations
Evangelical Community Hospital will hold several public flu and pneumonia vaccination clinics. Fees apply.

Learn how to 'eat well for life
LEWISBURG - "Eat Well For Life" - a lifestyle improvement program promoting wellness and long-term weight management through increasing physical activity and healthy eating - will be held 8:30 to 10 a.m. Thursdays beginning this week and through Oct. 25 at the Community Health Education Center.
It is offered by Evangelical Community Health Education and Highmark Insurance and is open to the public at a reduced-rate registration fee for non-Highmark participants. Those who have Highmark insurance may attend for free.

Susquehanna Health to offer mammograms
During breast cancer awareness month in October, Susquehanna Health will offer discounted screening mammograms for women without known breast problems who have little or no health insurance coverage.
The screening mammograms will take place Saturday and Oct. 20 at Muncy Valley Hospital and Oct. 13 and 27 at the Susquehanna Health Breast Health Center at Divine Providence Hospital.

Raise money for breast cancer research
"Miles of Memories," a 5K/10K Run/Walk breast cancer fundraiser will be held Oct. 20 at Nippenose Valley Elementary School.
Registration starts at 9 a.m., followed by opening ceremonies at 9:45 and the race at 10. A celebration party will be held afterward.

High-risk children, adults can receive free flu vaccines
The Lycoming County Health Improvement Coalition will sponsor a free flu outreach on Oct. 25 and 26 at six locations in the county.
More than 1,000 free doses of flu vaccine will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis.

PCT offers local anesthesia training for dental hygienists
Pennsylvania College of Technology is offering a 30-hour, noncredit course designed to provide licensed dental hygienists with the necessary knowledge and skills to administer local anesthesia in a clinical setting.
Specific requirements set forth the by the state Board of Dentistry for Pennsylvania will be addressed. The course also is approved by the Maryland State Board of Dentistry.
Sessions for the course will be held Saturdays and Sundays, Nov. 3-11.
Participants will gain knowledge in orofacial anatomy, pathology, pharmacology, armamentarium, local anesthesia administration, complications and side effects, and emergency procedures.
Practical training includes hands-on application of local anesthesia administration in clinical laboratory settings.
