Francis B. "Rip" Hanley, 82, of Eagles Mere, passed away on Sept. 2, 2012. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952 and attended Penn State University from 1952 to 1956. In 1955, Rip married Carolyn Bigger. Together they created Hanley's Happy Hill, which they operated for 47 years. Activities included downhill and cross country skiing, a lodge and riding stable.
Surviving Rip are his daughter, JoAnn Cooper of Lewisburg and his granddaughter, Alexza Cooper of Williamsport. He was preceded in death by Carolyn and a brother and sister.
