MONTGOMERY - A Clinton Township man faces charges for stealing a neighbor's golf cart and then selling it in an effort to "make a quick dollar," state police said.
Nathan Eugene Boerner, 24, of 551 State Home Road, has been charged with felony theft, felony receiving stolen property, theft by deception unauthorized use of a vehicle and criminal mischief, police said.
Police allege Boerner stole Augustine F. Spizzirri's $1,000 golf cart from a property right behind his home on Sept. 14 and then sold it to Larry Larue Rooker Jr., of Linden for $400, police said. The cart has since been recovered, police said, adding that Rooker was unaware that it was stolen.
Boerner, who has admitted to stealing the cart and selling, told police he was just hoping to make "a quick dollar," according to an affidavit. Following his arraignment Wednesday before District Judge Jon E. Kemp, Boerner was released on $10,000 bail.
