I was shocked by the letter written by Sue Richards about the 9/11 bike ride. How sad you or whomever else is complaining about stopped traffic or your "inconvenience" while these patriotic bike riders are out there "cruising" while honoring the men and women who died after the worst terrorist attack that has happened on U.S. soil.
Obviously, you read the Sun Gazette and know the 9/11 bike ride is coming as it is advertized before it happens. The date never changes from year to year--it's 9/11!!
If your time is that important, a couple of solutions you might consider: 1. Choose a different route to your destination 2. Schedule your appointment other than 9/11 or 3. Join the thousands of people standing along the route and wave a flag to show support for what these bike riders are out there honoring.
As far as your comments about these bikers volunteering their time, they do! They get involved with many groups in the area.
I would hope you might rethink your position on this bike ride and the dedicated 9/11 bike riders.
I'd like to thank the men and women who organize this ride year after year. Keep up the good work! You are great examples of people who care when so many do not!
Proud to be a 9/11 bike rider.
