Nellie A. Dunn

Nellie A. Dunn, was embraced in the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary and called home to her eternal glory on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Emmanuel Center Nursing Home in Danville, Pa.

She celebrated her 100thbirthday on July 7, 2012. The former Nellie A. Kereski, she was born in Tioga County, the daughter of John and Michalene Andreweski Kereski.

She was a graduate of the Williamsport High School, the Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing and was a member of the Nurses' Alumnae of the Hospital. She had been employed for 24 years as a registered nurse by Divine Providence Hospital, and was a member of the Divine Providence Hospital Auxiliary, Hospital Retirees, Montoursville Senior Citizens, Y.W.C.A., Catholic Guild of Nurses, Golden Agers of Scranton, the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal, the Good Samaritan Club, the St. Jude Travel Society, and the Society of the Little Flower. She had been a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Montoursville, Pa, the Altar and Rosary Society and the Living Rosary. She was an avid quilt maker.

On June 30, 1935, she married Walter V. Dunn who preceded her in death. A son, Charles also preceded her in death.

She is survived by three sons; Richard (Donna) Dunn of Lake Worth, Fla., Walter Dunn of Williamsport, Lawrence (Sharon) Dunn of Harrisburg and five daughters Mrs. Constance (Lawrence) Brady of Elmira, N.Y., Sister Dolores Dunn, I.H.M., Marywood University, Scranton, Geraldine Dunn of Montoursville, Mrs. Suzanne Egli (Richard) of Bellefonte and Mrs. Rosemary (Michael) Ferraro of Andover, N.J., 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. The greatest gift she gave to her children is their Catholic Faith.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 100 Walnut St., Montoursville, on Tuesday Oct. 9, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. John K. Manno officiating, followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery.

A public viewing will be held on Monday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Crouse Funeral Home, 133 East Third St., Williamsport with a recitation of the rosary.
