If I am going to get my car repaired, I wouldn't want to trust it to someone who has never even driven one. I'm sure the mechanic can learn from a book how the fuel gets into the cylinder, how the spark ignites the fuel, etc, but he wouldn't have any idea how the car brakes feel when he tries to stop or whether or not the steering linkage has too much play, let alone how to safely navigate the streets of the city. Why then should I want to trust the economy to someone who has never had a job in the private sector? President Obama has thus far watched over the weakest economic recovery since the Great Depression.
In the first two years of his administration President Obama had control not only of the Senate, but also the Congress, but nothing was done to reverse what at the time was an economy in contraction. Yes, the recession was begun in the Bush administration, but any responsible executive would have taken steps to see that the trend was reversed and the economic growth was insured. When the Democrats had control of the federal government, all that was accomplished was to continue to blame the previous administration for the economic slump, and pass a job-killing, disastrous health-care package which has still more surprises (and taxes) to come. More hand-outs are being given rather than incentives to put Americans back to work.
It is time that we have a change in Washington. Gov. Romney and Congressman Ryan understand what is necessary to stop the out-of-control spending. Romney knows how to get a return on the dollars that are invested. His success has often been criticized as excessive, but I would rather have someone who was doing the same for this country than someone who has no idea what it takes to make a dollar.
