June J. Whitton

June J. Whitton, 80, of Jersey Shore, Pa., passed away at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012. She was the wife of Calvin L. Whitton Sr., with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.

June was born on Jan. 28, 1932, in Jersey Shore, and was the daughter of the late Wesley C. and Margaret E. Wolfe Koch.

June worked for many years at Wundies Inc. of Williamsport currently known as Delta Galil.

She loved to spend time in the outdoors. She enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in her yard. She was a fantastic cook and was voted the best apple dumpling maker in the world by her family!

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two brothers, Floyd Koch of Salladasburg, Kyle Koch of Avis; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and by a son in-law, Albert Winkleman of Jersey Shore.

June is predeceased by a son, Calvin L. Whitton Jr.; a daughter, Patty Jo Winkleman; and six brothers and three sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend June's Life Celebration on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home," 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, Pa. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Cathy R. Dawes officiating. Interment will follow at Twin Hills Memorial Park Muncy, Pa.

In June's memory, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1411 E. Third St., Williamsport, Pa., or to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Loyalsock Township, 17701.
