Jon F. Thompson

Jon F. Thompson, 48, of Avis, passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

He was born Aug. 10, 1964, in Jersey Shore, the son of J. Frank and Elizabeth "Betty" (Wolfe) Thompson.

Jon and his wife the former Candace M. Willits were married on Sept. 22, 2012.

He was a truck driver for over 20 years with various local firms, most recently KTC Trucking of Oil City.

Jon was a member of the Crossroads Community Church and the LaBelle Vallee Masonic Lodge No. 232 of Jersey Shore.

He was an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast and loved to ride.

Jon enjoyed car shows and Ford Mustangs.

His survivors include his wife, Candy; son, John Thompson of Jersey Shore; and daughter, Layla Thompson of South Williamsport; his parents, J. Frank and Betty Thompson of Jersey Shore; a stepson, Jason (Danielle) Willits of Pine Creek; twin stepdaughters, Angel (Anthony) Sechrist and April (Robert) Kline, both of Montoursville; three sisters, Susan (Robert) Grossman, Dr. Cindy (Craig) Allen, both of Jersey Shore, and Betsy (Shane) Thomas of Woolrich; seven grandchildren, Ashton, Jurnee, Emma, Leah, Sophie, Alexander and Ace; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jon's Life Celebration will begin with a visitation on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Crossroads Community Church, 1454 PA Route 44 South Highway, Jersey Shore, PA 17740. Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the church with Pastor John Phillips officiating. Jon's last memorial ride will immediately follow the services to the Jersey Shore Cemetery for interment.

Memorial bikers and riders are asked to be at the Crossroads Community Church by 9:40 a.m. Saturday morning.

His family suggests contributions be made to either the Crossroads Community Church Blessing of the Bikes Fund or the Building Fund.
