Mildred A. Blair, 86, of 257 Troy Road, Cogan Station, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at her home.
She was born Sept. 2, 1926, in Saxton, Pa., a daughter of William E. and Dorothy Hinnish Hoover.
Mildred graduated in 1944 from Saxton Liberty High School and retired from the former GTE Sylvania. She was a member of Balls Mills United Methodist Church, where she had been a Sunday School teacher and a quilter. Mildred enjoyed reading the Sun-Gazette.
She was predeceased by her husband, LeRoy W. Blair and two brothers, John and Bill Hoover.
Mildred is survived by her son, William L. (Donna) Blair of Williamsport; a brother, Gilbert (Nancy) Hoover of Saxton; three grandchildren, Megan (Jeremy) Martin, William and Jonathan Blair; two stepgrandchildren, Lisa Deyo and Frederick (Karen) Trego; and three great-grandsons, Cyrus, Nathaniel and Benjamin Trego.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Balls Mills United Methodist Church, 5941 Bloomingrove Road, Cogan Station, with Rev. Jay A. Morris officiating. Interment will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, in St. Luke's Cemetery in Saxton, Pa. Friends may call at the church Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church elevator fund.
