Crash on Interstate 180

October 10, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette
The driver of this cement mixer was ejected from the vehicle as it crashed and rolled several times, landing in the median of Interstate 180 at the Muncy Main Street interchange about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, state police said. The driver, a man in his mid-20s from Berwick, lost control of the truck as he rounded a curve at excessive speed in the westbound lanes, police said. The mixer went airborne over an emergency crossover before crashing, police said. A medical helicopter, which landed in the eastbound lanes, transported the man, whose identity was not known, to the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. The helicopter is seen in upper right heading to the medical center. Eastbound traffic was backed up for at least two hours.
