The real losers

October 12, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

Regarding the letter, "shocked to learn the last Bush administration was responsible for adding $6.1 trillion to the national debt," I would agree that kind of fiscal irresponsibility is reprehensible. I suspect it is a main reason Democrats were able to handily win the presidency and a number of seats in both houses during the 2008 elections. I believe most conservatives, at least those outside the Beltway, were thoroughly disgusted at the Republicans' racking up $6.1 trillion of national debt during the eight years of the Bush presidency.

You may not have heard this from the "Dept of the Treasury, Financial Management Service, Bureau of the Public Debt", or the "Office of Management and Budget", but during the four years of the Obama presidency, the debt will have increased by another $5.5 to $6 trillion. I can hardly wait to see what he can do in eight years! I suppose only time will tell which political party will win the spending ludicrously contest, but I can tell you right now who loses. The taxpayers!!
