On Oct. 11, 2012, Joseph Dembitsky lost his battle with cancer.
Joe was born May 13, 1933, in Forestville, Pa., to Peter and Mary Dembitsky.
Joe is survived by his children, Joseph W. of Jacksonville, Fla., Bart A. (Heather) of Montoursville, Honna L. (Graeme) Annett of Alexandria, Va.; two grandchildren, Wayne A. of Altoona, Madison R. of Montoursville; one great-granddaughter, Paige; four sisters, Sophie Gogno of Minersville, Elizabeth Janeczk of Dallas, Stella Lavenburg of Schuykill Haven and Antonette Covely of Port Carbon.

Joe graduated from Minersville High School and Penn Tech, and honorably served in the U.S. Army. Joe worked as a subcontractor for Lundy Homes, and retired from Avco after 30 years.
Joe was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, fly tying and hunting; he also enjoyed listening and playing bluegrass music with his Bass fiddle and harmonicas.
There will be no memorial services in honor of Joe's request. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
