Two men have been jailed on charges of allegedly beating a man unconscious in the 300 block of Rural Avenue during the early morning hours of Oct. 5, city police said.
Tysean Akeem Schell and Paul E. Early Jr, both 22 and of Philadelphia, have been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering for punching and kicking 38-year-old Shawn Brown about 40 times in the head face until he went unconscious about 1:45 a.m., police alleged.
Both Shell, who faces an additional charge of resisting arrest, and Early were taken into custody at the scene.
Brown was taken by ambulance to the Williamsport Regional Medical Center. No information was released about his medical condition since the hospital no longer provides it. Police did not say what prompted the brutal attack.
Both men were arraigned before District Judge Jon E. Kemp. Schell was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $275,000 bail while Early was jailed in lieu of $250,000 bail.
