Jersey Shore man accused of forging figure on check for medical coverage

October 12, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

A Jersey Shore man faces forgery-related charges for allegedly altering a check that his employer gave him to cover a medical bill, state police said.

Allmon Services Inc., of Trout Run, gave Arthur Charles Muller, 34, of 320 Oliver St., a check written for $107 and made out to the Guthrie Clinic in mid-September, police said.

Muller, an employee of Allmon, needed medical attention at the clinic for something related to his employment, court records state. Upon receiving the check, Muller "wrote his name over Guthrie Clinic" and cashed it at a bank in Jersey Shore, police alleged.

Muller, formerly of Mansfield, was arraigned before District Judge Allen P. Page III on charges of forgery, theft by deception, theft and receiving stolen property. He was released on $15,000 bail.
