A different world

October 15, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

What a wonderful world it must be when the universe revolves around us, the individual. With that type of existence it's important to be on a panel that will make a crucial decision regarding the life blood of a community.

When the world revolves around you and you don't like the rules that have been used for generations, you just change them to suit yourself, being you are the only person that matters.

As an example I will refer to a member of the Southern Tioga School Board, Ms. Sara Jane "Gripe" Knipe. She doesn't like the rules as they are because she may lose, so if the possibility of losing seems evident then we must change the rules so that we don't lose.

This is what Ms. Knipe wants to do. Change the rules of majority to a new standard of 2/3's of the board vote. I mean why should a majority rule when with a simple change of the rules you can create a filibuster and upset the status quo, mainly because you don't agree with the possible out come of a crucial decision that has been years in the making.

Ms Knipe, please try to be like the rest of us and not have the world revolve around you. Just go with the flow, as most people do in life and except that sometimes we just cannot have our way.

By the way, with an attitude like yours I would resign my position as you seem to be in the game for your own personal satisfaction and not the good of the whole.

It's pretty obvious that the children are not your main concern in this matter. Your main concern it would appear, is to be a winner, even if it means changing the rules in mid stream.
