Seniors group meet in area

SALLADASBURG - The Salladasburg Chapter of the Lycoming County Senior Citizens group will meet at noon Thursday at Salladasburg United Methodist Church.

The monthly meeting will follow the meal catered by Harvey's BBQ and special music will be presented by Norman Wilson and Jane Reed.

The hostesses will be Joan Lehman and Wanda Brown.

Fire department to hold craft show

TROY - The Troy Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual craft show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Troy Fire Department, 88 Firehouse Drive.

This is an annual fundraiser for the department, and proceeds go to help buy equipment. There will be no charge for admission.

'Fancy Fair' set in Laceyville

LACEYVILLE - The Oldest House in Laceyville, along Main Street, will celebrate the season with its annual Fancy Fair, scheduled for Oct. 19 and 20.

The Fancy Fair has long been the house's celebration of harvest and home, with a selection of homemade baked goods, jams and jellies for sale as well as unique glassware and gift items.

Tours of the historic house, built in 1781, also will be available.

The Fancy Fair is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 19 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 20.

Marines group announces events

The Williamsport Detachment Marine Corps League will hold its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the detachment headquarters, 507 Cemetery St.

The meeting is open to any active duty and honorably discharged Marines and Navy Corpsmen.

Also, the group will sell hot dogs and sodas from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 20 at Gander Mountain, Pennsdale, to raise funds for the league.

On Nov. 10, the league will celebrate the 237th birthday of the Marine Corps with a banquet beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the grand ballroom of the Genetti Hotel.

There is a fee to attend and tickets must be bought by Nov. 5.
